Coverage, not a safety map.

Empty areas have no matched reports in this sample. They do not establish an absence of armed violence.

Locations are inferred from explicit place names and selected aliases in headlines and feed excerpts, using a worldwide country and territory directory. A marker can represent reporting about a place, rather than an event there. Reports with no matched place remain available under “No matched place” and in the global list. Matching a location does not verify a report. Empty map areas indicate no matched reports in this sample, not safety or absence of violence. Armed-group and organized armed-violence reporting is included; inclusion does not classify every event as a war. This is a sampled feed, not an exhaustive worldwide incident database. TRANSPARENCY

Sources before speculation.

News combines topic-matched GDELT, 47 direct source channels (publisher RSS feeds and a public publisher index) and nine regional Google News searches. Choose a 24-hour, 72-hour or 7-day window. Up to 600 deduplicated reports are retained. This is sampled English, Spanish and Portuguese coverage and cannot include every report or conflict. Feeds refresh on opening, manually, and every five minutes while visible. Availability and coverage vary.

Map markers match explicit country or region names and selected aliases in headlines and feed excerpts to coarse geographic centers. They are not verified incident locations or safe-zone boundaries. Matching can be incomplete or ambiguous.

Category photographs are AI-generated illustrations. They do not depict the specific events in the news feed. Each report links to its source or its Google News publisher link.

Economic indicators use published FRED observations (EIA, CBOE and Federal Reserve sources) and ECB exchange rates via Frankfurter. Dates and source availability are shown; these are not live quotes. If live economic retrieval fails, saved source observations are explicitly labeled with their retrieval date. Country centers use mledoze/countries (ODbL). Our World in Data provides UCDP conflict-death estimates with reporting periods and possible revisions. Official travel advisories do not guarantee safety.

False-flag allegations remain unassessed. Prediction markets and social engagement are not factual verification. Market rankings cover samples; platform trader leaderboards open on the original sites.
